Chris is a Professor of Respiratory and Paediatric Medicine at the UCL (University College London) Great Ormond Street Hospital Institute of Child Health, London, UK. He established the nationally funded diagnostic service for PCD in the UK and leads a major centre that has diagnosed over 1,000 PCD patients. His group developed high-speed video analysis of cilia, that redefined ciliary movement, and its use as a front-line diagnostic test. He has published extensively in ciliary biology, respiratory infection and aerosols in medicine.
He established the not-for-profit organisation, World Medical Education, undertaking projects with the World Health Organisation and other organisations in Africa and Asia.
